Enrique Quijano is a bilingual journalist with 20-plus years of experience as a news reporter and editor. Quijano has worked for several bilingual publications, gaining extensive experiencecovering such subjects as Entertainment, Politics, Health, Economy, Technology, and Education. Along with his reporting background, Quijano has extensive experience as a translator, having provided Spanish-English bilingual versions of many news articles.
Enrique has worked for The Dallas Morning News and The Fort-Worth Star Telegram newspapers, both in Dallas, Texas; The Sacramento Bee in California; and other news outlets. In 2012, Enrique was responsible for launching a new newspaper for the Archdiocese of San Francisco, establishing the publication’s content and design, managing and producing it.
As a journalist, Enrique has had the opportunity to interview many important personalities in politics, such as the Lieutenant Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, and the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. He has also interviewed Latino celebrities including actors Gael Garcia Bernal, Diego Luna, Kate del Castillo, Demian Bichir, and the Spanish producer Pedro Almodovar, as well as U.S. artists including Michael Moore and Chris Rock.
Enrique has a BA in Communications-Journalism from his home country, Spain. Five years ago, he decided to switch careers, completing a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications with emphasis in Public Relations at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He is currently an MBA candidate at the same institution.
In 2014, Enrique began his career in public relations, working for De Alba Communication. At De Alba, Enrique is in charge of translating media materials and conducts media outreach in San Francisco and nationwide.
